So far, three "officially" EU-supported EU-NSF collaborations have been set up in the following areas:

Digital Libraries: the results were presented at a workshop in Brussels on 12 October 1998, and published in An International Research Agenda for Digital Libraries: "Summary Report of the Series of Joint NSF-EU Working Groups on Future Directions for Digital Libraries Research".
