Working Group Health and Information Technology

A new working group 'Health and Information Technology' has begun
its work. During the November 1997 ERCIM meetings in Copenhagen, some of
the initial Task Force members had a one day meeting. The Task force drafted
a preliminary operation plan for the new Working Group including building
up an ERCIM network for people and organisations working in the field.
The purpose of the working group is to build up an ERCIM network for
people and organisations working in the field eg by its own web pages and
workshops raise awareness of the this Working Group eg by communicating
with the European Commission and national actors; and to inform and prepare
common project proposals among ERCIM-institutes.
Preliminary overview of the ERCIM-activities related to WG-HIT was introduced
in ERCIM News No. 29. An updated survey of member activities will be made
later on. The next workshop is planned for spring 1998.
