ERCIM Sponsorship for Conferences and Workshops

As in the previous years, ERCIM offers to sponsor up to six workshops and five internationally recognised conferences in 1999.

ERCIM will supplement the costs of a self-financing event. The additional funding provided by ERCIM should be used to enhance the workshop by, for example, increasing the set of external speakers supported. The funding on offer is in the order of 2000 ECU for each event. This is not seen as a revenue gaining exercise for ERCIM so that, in case such events generated profits, the profit would remain with the external organisation. Publication of the proceedings is left to the organising committee but ERCIM would be prepared to help if appropriate.

Conference Sponsorship

ERCIM is willing to sponsor up to five internationally recognised conferences per year. Requests for funding have to be addressed to Kim Guldstrand Larsen, DANIT (kgl@cs.auc.dk)

Workshop Sponsorship

ERCIM sponsors up to 6 workshops per year under the following conditions:

• to be held at ERCIM site
• to have some ERCIM partners having named individuals involved in the organisation committee
• participation from at least 2 non-ERCIM institutes on the Organising Committee
• underwriting by one ERCIM partner

Bids will have to indicate how the workshop meets criteria set by ERCIM for awarding the sponsorship.
